Watching your child struggle with anxiety can be really heartbreaking as a parent.
The reality, too, is that you’re likely struggling living with and responding to the behaviours and emotions that come with the anxiety they are experiencing.

Issues like anxiety can feel very overwhelming, and it’s hard to know how to respond. That’s why I have created this guide: What to do when your child is experiencing anxiety.

This guide is designed to help you:

  • Know how to discuss anxiety with your child

  • Observe and notice the patterns and triggers for the anxiety your child is experiencing

  • Help you understand what your child is actually afraid of.

Then, it will help you:

  • Gain insight and understanding around key aspects of anxiety - fears and phobias, social anxiety

  • Have strategies you can use to help your child

  • Develop a personalised plan to help respond to the anxiety your child is experiencing.

Towards the end of the guide I also offer some advice on knowing when to seek further help, and working out what kind of help you might need.

Remember - little steps with little people can lead to big change. This is designed as a comprehensive guide, so, there are more insights and ideas here than you can possibly implement at one time. I encourage you to take things step by step.

I wish you and your family all the best as you work through the ideas in this guide.

  • “I needed this sooner! This is the most comprehensive guide to anxiety I have come across. We have learnt so much in parents. We were overwhelmed and over it when it came to our daughter’s anxiety, and now we feel so much better equipped. Particularly loved all of the worksheets”

  • "We shared this guide with the grandparents and it’s helped us and them get on the same page in what to say about Susie’s* anxiety. We could see her just getting more and more wound up. Us being confident about how we respond to her anxiety has definitely helped."

  • "This guide gave us the plan we needed to tackle what has been a huge issue for our whole family. Thank you!"

  • "We loved how the guide re-framed the opportunity of anxiety – we have an opportunity to teach her life skills and resilient thinking we might not otherwise have had if it hadn’t been for this."
